Do you enjoy gardening, protecting wildlife, making new friends and getting involved? Then why not join the project team at Cortis Avenue wildlife garden! A piece of land (which belongs to Worthing Homes) at the north east side of Cortis Avenue is now the site of the first local community garden run by local people and volunteers. Do you enjoy learning about wildlife, making new friends and being involved with practical hands-on outdoor activities? Then Cortis Avenue Wildlife Garden (CAWG) is the place.
The project which started in October 2010 gives volunteers the chance to learn new skills, meet new people and socialise in a friendly informal setting. Plans for the space include an orchard, a pond, wild flower meadow and a vegetable garden. The garden, which was recently voted the Sussex winner of the Co-operative Big Community Vote 2011, will become an outdoor practical and learning resource for local people
